Lines

"Lines" is one of my very first series I started when a new concrete parking deck was built closed to where I lived at this time. After the downfall of the communist regime I was naive enough to believe that the society would turn their values into a more idealistic direction. Instead the opposite seemed to be happen and the aim for money made people forget all their social behavior. The series is a mirror of my fear at this time anticipating an inhumane and cold future. Back in the 90´s of the last century I was working with black & white film and developed, printed and toned all by myself. Each photograph is captured 2 times at the exact same composition. Then the two negatives are lined up as a sandwich but the top one switched horizontally before assembled into the enlarger. After the invention of Photoshop I digitally remastered the series to achieve more accuracy.
